JEWELL CARTER

PRESIDENT AND COO

Before entering the private sector, Mr. Jewell Carter proudly served 21 years in the US Air Force. Throughout his career, he was responsible for training and developing United States Air Force (USAF) members while ensuring goals were professionally and consistently attained.

Prior to being named President and Chief Operating Officer of the Atlanta Monarchs, Jewell was the Monarchs Human Resources Director and worked closely with coaches, players and staff in the Monarchs inaugural season. During his tenure as director, his organizational support and guidance was instrumental to the Monarchs being crowned 2018 National Champions of the Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL).

Besides his role with the Monarchs, he also works for the School of Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. In addition, he is also involved with Atlanta’s Young Misses (AYM). AYM is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that was designed to improve the academic success, long-term health conditions and overall educational and career opportunities of young girls within the Atlanta Metro area.

Believing that education is not only an equalizer, but also important for self-sufficiency and personal development; Jewell holds a Master of Arts in Information Technology Management, a Bachelor of Business Administration – Human Resources, a Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership.

Since 2008, he has also held the distinction of being recognized as a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR). He intentionally aligns the plans and goals of the Atlanta Monarchs with the needs and vision of the WPBA. He believes that serving a community that supports the Monarchs, professional women’s basketball and underrepresented youth creates a winning team, and a formula for success.

Jewell looks forward to building upon the framework that has already produced top notch players and staff. Equally important within the Monarchs organization is the collective goal to establish uniformity on and off the court. The combination of both will be paramount to the franchises vision of competing for multiple championships.
